The Way We Work
Date: December 2018
Description from TED website:
Our obsession with productivity — to-do lists, life hacks, morning routines — is making us less productive, says digital anthropologist Rahaf Harfoush. She explains why we need to redesign our workday around creativity — not just efficiency.

My Review / Notes / Thoughts
This video is a bit different from the standard TED Talks … In fact, it is a part of their “The Way We Work” series. This video is short … less than 5 minutes. Despite that, it is jam-packed with information about work, productivity, creativity, and burnout.
If you find yourself struggling at work to come up with fresh, innovative ideas… you might be suffering from burnout.
We can’t expect ourselves or our employees to be 100% productive 100% of the time in knowledge-based positions. Our brains cannot function like that because they aren’t wired like that. We have to allow time for rest. Did you know that our brain actually works when you’re sleeping? That’s when it basically files information away and creates maps so that you can find it again! No sleep means no filing … that's the equivalent of not putting all those papers away and letting them pile up on your desk! Who can find anything in that mess! And that is when we get so frazzled!
So take time to rest … and while you’re at it, make sure you watch the video!
You’ll thank me later!
Until next time … live long life-learner!
